This TNT Update aims to give you a brief summary of our latest activities and plans and provide an insight into the kinds of things we discuss at our bimonthly Board meetings. We'd be pleased to hear whether you find this useful and interesting.
Changes at TNT Board
Our Chair's term of office is two years so in December Penny Wakefield took over as Chair from Jane Todd, with Jane remaining as a Board member. We welcomed Jon Miles, Church Urban Fund Trustee, who has replaced Jenny Baker, who is supporting new joint ventures in other parts of the country.
Mansfield Cold Weather Night Shelter
29 people have used our facilities and around 40% of them have been helped to move onto other accommodation. A huge thank you to the volunteers, many of whom are from Mansfield Baptist Church, and to John, our Winter Night Shelter coordinator, for their invaluable work. A review of this year's operation is now complete.
Places of Welcome
Hannah is working with Nottingham churches to explore how they may set up Places of Welcome.
These are drop ins in local communities where people can come for a free cup of tea, to meet some local people and join in a conversation.
Basic Budgeting Courses
Anne-Marie is currently evaluating the impact of 2014 courses. Her report will be ready soon.
TNT 2014 Annual Report
Our Annual Report is now available and being circulated widely. Copies can be found on on our website or contact Hannah.
Extending TNT's geographical areas of work
We will now be available to respond to any opportunities in Nottinghamshire, not solely in Mansfield, Nottingham and Bassetlaw, as long as we have sufficient resources to do so.
