How to apply

Applying for a Together Grant is simple. Church Urban Fund wants to hear from faith based organisations that want to turn their ideas into action.

Please read our funding criteria and read our Grants Guidance for full details on the types of projects we fund.

Standard application procedure

  1. Review whether your project fits in with our criteria. Before you apply, please ensure that you fit our criteria, as detailed in our grants guidance. If you have questions about the process or the criteria, please contact CUF directly on 0207 898 1508, or by emailing
  2. If yes, contact your local Link Officer. Discuss your proposal, and if appropriate you will be offered an application form. If your project meets the criteria for a Together Grant, please contact your local Link Officer. If appropriate, they will provide you with an application form.
  3. Complete your application form and return this (with a budget outline and your latest accounts) to your Link Officer. Once complete, all applications must be submitted to the respective Link Officer in the first instance for their endorsement (not to Church Urban Fund Head Office). There is a Link Officer based in every Anglican Diocese in England. They can help provide guidance on the application for activities within the area. Churches or organisations applying for a Together Grant do not have to be Anglican but do need to have a Christian basis.
  4. Your application will be reviewed locally before being forwarded to Church Urban Fund offices for final assessment. Church Urban Fund will undertake the assessment of applications, and may request further information– this is usually by email or letter. The aim in these conversations is to assist in effectively describing the project and to help ensure that the issues involved in the project have been thought through. Church Urban Fund aims to assess your application and communicate a decision within one month of receiving the proposal to our central offices. Ensuring you have included all relevant details and documents will avoid extra delays.
