Our case studies provide a more in depth look at some of the work of the Near Neighbours programme which is bringing people together in diverse communities around the country, including the work of our partners and also projects we have funded.

NEHEMIAH COMMUNITY WORKERS

The Nehemiah Foundation is a partner of Near Neighbours , employing local community workers in neighbourhoods across the programme. These workers make connections with local people and help develop projects that transform communities. This study follows the work of Saf one of these community workers.

MARKHOUSE CITYSAFE CAMPAIGN

Near Neighbours is supporting a diverse group of residents in Walthamstow who are working together to make their community a safer place to live. Bringing together churches, local businesses, the mosque, and community organisers, the Markhouse CitySafe campaign is establishing a network of local safe havens, providing refuge to people fleeing violence.

SAFFRON NEIGHBOURHOOD PROJECT

Near Neighbours is working with two local groups in Leicester, which brought their communities together through seasonal celebrations. Saffron Neighbourhood Management Board hosted a Christmas party for local residents in a deprived area of the city, and Hope Hamilton Church held a Light Party during Diwali to being Christian and Hindu neighbours together.
