What we do

Street Pastors is an inter-denominational church initiative to urban problems, engaging with people on the streets to listen, care and help. In Mansfield, 16 churches are involved. Teams go out into the town centre every Saturday night, from 10pm until 4.00am.
Types of volunteers needed:
Volunteer Street Pastors commit to one night each month. They are aged over 18 but there is no upper age limit (our oldest street pastor is 82). Volunteers go through an application process and DBS check (previously known as CRB). They are given full training, which is mainly held on Saturday’s. There are 12 different training sessions in total, including roles and responsibilities, conflict management, domestic abuse awareness & safeguarding. The training takes approximately 6 months to complete.
