Our Work

Our Work

We aim to be a resource for anyone who is wanting to make a difference in their community.

We follow an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. This considers people in communities as well as skills, tallents and other resources such as buildings as the main building blocks of sustainable and flourishing communities.

Our friends at Nurture Development teach 3 helpful questions, which help us to focus:

More information about ABCD can be found at www.cuf.org.uk/abcd

We are currently working with local communities around six main themes:

We are impacting some of these themes through:

Basic Budgeting Courses

We believe that everyone can benefit from learning some simple, practical skills around budgeting and money management.

Working closely with our Together Network colleagues Transforming Notts Together, we have adapted their Basic Budgeting Course for churches and other groups in Walsall and Wolverhampton.

It is normally run as a fun course of 2 sessions, each lasting about 2 hours.

Training the Trainers

We run free half day Training the Trainer sessions which equip people to deliver Basic Budgeting Courses or to be a Budgeting Buddy.

If you would like people from your church, group or organisation to be trained, please email us

Places of Welcome

All of our TCT workers are involved in setting up Places of Welcome in the Black Country.

This expanding movement of welcome and hospitality builds on the work of our Together Network colleagues Thrive Birmingham.

More information about this growing grass roots movement can be found at www.placesofwelcome.org
